Owen Sound Emancipation Festival
July 31 to August 2
Owen Sound’s Emancipation Festival celebrates the city’s rich Black history and heritage. This year’s festivities include community programming such as Speaker’s Corner and other cultural events that honour Emancipation Day.
Bruce County
Bruce Power FunFest
Saturday, August 1 | Walkerton Arena
One of the biggest free family events of the summer returns this weekend. Bruce Power’s FunFest features:
- Free food
- Inflatables
- Rock climbing
- Face painting
- Magic and reptile shows
- Interactive activities for all ages
The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with free fireworks at dusk in both Port Elgin and Kincardine celebrating Bruce Power’s 25th anniversary.
Southampton Arts Festival
July 31 to August 2 | Southampton
Celebrate local creativity during the second annual Southampton Arts Festival. Visitors can enjoy:
- Art exhibitions
- Live music
- Theatre performances
- Public art displays
- Walking tours throughout town
Many of the outdoor exhibits and performances are free to attend, making it a great weekend destination.
Bruce Peninsula Art Show
Lion’s Head
Browse artwork from more than 50 Grey Bruce artists during the Bruce Peninsula Art Show. Even if you’re not shopping, it’s a wonderful opportunity to admire local talent and support emerging artists. Student bursaries are funded through artwork sales.
