Today, we are so happy (and extremely thankful) to share a story about Joan Zapf. Her caring generosity will make a big difference to local children in need.
Today, we are so happy (and extremely thankful) to share a story about Joan Zapf. Joan was a local woman who believed in giving back to her community and especially helping children in need. Unfortunately, Joan recently passed away but previous to her death, she purchased close to 100 children’s backpacks and trolley-type mini-suitcases with a plan that they be given to children who could use them. Sadly, Joan was not able to see her plan come full circle while she was alive. Recently however, her family approached us about donating the backpacks to our Backpack Program in Joan’s honour and we were so touched by the generosity and this amazing, caring gift.
Joan’s backpacks will be distributed through our Backpack Program to children of low income families. We are so grateful to Joan and her caring and generous nature and we appreciate this wonderful gesture that will spread smiles and make a difference to so many local children.
Our thoughts are with the Zapf family during this difficult time and we thank them for this amazing and kind donation in Joan’s memory.
