Puck Pigs Last Game of the Season!
The Puck Pigs played their final game of the season yesterday at the Owen Sound Regional Recreation Centre. We, as the United Way Bruce Grey, are incredibly proud to be their charity partner.
For 35 years, this hockey team has been bringing together clients of Brightshores Health System & CMHA Grey Bruce who are dealing with mental health and/or addiction issues. Men and women with different skills join the team, but once they put on the jersey, they feel like they belong and support each other. Mental illness can make people feel alone, but playing hockey each week helps them get out and make friends.
Huge thanks to the James Goreski Foundation for providing the ice time and to the Society of United Professionals for the new jerseys! Another shoutout to BNI Sound Networking – Chapter in Owen Sound for sponsoring the BBQ Social and Awards Ceremony for the Puck Pigs on April 30th!
GO PUCK PIGS! 🐷🏒
