#FinancialFridays: Debt got you down? Hope and help exists and you too can become debt-free.

Has debt got you down? If so, you’re not alone. Right now in Canada, the debt crisis is skyrocketing with Canadians owing nearly $2 trillion!

Debt can cause a huge amount of stress that ultimately can affect one’s physical and mental health, relationships with family and friends, job performance and more. If debt is not controlled, the situation can snowball leading many to feel like they are being buried alive under a mountain of debt with no clear solution of where to turn. The good thing however is that there is hope and help exists. You too can become debt free.

Credit Canada is a not-for-profit credit counselling organization that supports people who are in debt. Caroline, our Financial Literacy Program Coordinator, often refers people who have a significant debt-load to this service.
