We are looking for an outgoing High School, College or University Student to plan and organize our annual Backpack Program as well as to support our other programs and fund raising initiatives.

The United Way of Bruce Grey is a unique organization.  We are invested in helping the communities of Bruce/Grey in many ways, from helping to fund vital programs supporting vulnerable people to actively participating in programming ourselves to lobbying governments on behalf of people who do not have a voice.

The job:

Our BACKPACK CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR will be responsible for seeking donations of both funds and product to support the program, work with volunteers, network with area agencies and donors.  Each year we distribute thousands of backpacks to elementary and high school students throughout Bruce/Grey

Duties:

• Support United Way fundraising events
• Soliciting funds and supplies from the community
• Coordinate client database with United Way staff and local service agencies
• Maintain inventory of supplies donated and purchased
• Distribution of inventory
• Media and public relations
• General office duties
• Community outreach and donor solicitation
• Fundraising
• Special events

We are looking for:

• Someone who wants to make a difference in their community
• A highly motivated student, studying marketing or communications type programs, ideally
• Someone who works equally well as part of a team and also individually
• A person who can perform light to moderate lifting
• A driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle is a requirement
• A person who can work 35 hours per week from June 7^th to August 30th, 2024
