Puck Pigs Hockey Program

For 35 years, this hockey program has been bringing together clients of Brightshores Health System & CMHA Grey Bruce who are managing mental health. Men and women of all skills join the team, but once they put on the jersey, they are hockey players.

Mental illness can make people feel alone, but playing hockey each week helps them get out and make friends. Hockey provides them with a vital outlet, helping to release endorphins that reduce depression, stress, and anxiety.

Huge thanks to the James Goreski Foundation for funding the 2023-24 the ice time and to the Society of United Professionals for the new jerseys!

Another shoutout to BNI Sound Networking – Chapter in Owen Sound for sponsoring the BBQ Social and Awards Ceremony for the Puck Pigs on April 30th!
