It’s Menstrual Health Day

Today is Menstrual Health Day, and here at United Way Bruce Grey, we’re raising our voices (and awareness) about something that impacts so many in our community: period poverty.

What’s period poverty?
It’s the lack of access to menstrual products, education, and safe hygiene facilities. For too many people who menstruate, this means having to choose between buying food or buying these essential products. And that’s just not okay.

That’s why we’re so excited to announce our latest initiative:

Flow Fridays – Powered by Zoomer Radio

Fridays in June, we’re popping up at local pharmacies to talk periods, break the stigma, and collect donations of pads, tampons, liners, and menstrual cups.

Here’s the lineup:

  • June 6Shoppers Drug Mart (16th Street) – 10 AM to 1 PM
  • June 13Shoppers Drug Mart (10th Street) – 10 AM to 1 PM
  • June 20Kristen’s Pharmacy (Southampton) – 12 PM to 3 PM

Can’t make it during those times? No worries. Each location will have a collection bin available throughout the month. Stop by when you can and drop your donation in the bin – every contribution makes a real difference.

Why This Matters

Menstrual products aren’t a luxury – they’re a necessity. By supporting Flow Fridays, you’re helping ensure that no one in Bruce Grey has to go without these essential items.

Let’s tackle period poverty together. Let’s make menstruation a little less taboo and a lot more supported.

Thank you for being part of the change.
