Every year on March 14, the world celebrates Pi Day to recognize the mathematical constant, Pi. It defines as the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter and the value for Pi is 3.14. diameter and its value is 3.14. … Math enthusiasts across the world hold fun events on this day to mark the celebrations
There were 2 ways to celebrate Pi Day:
Pi Day… PIE!
You could order a pie baked by OSHaRE or CMHA’s Fresh Roots Café or partake in the Pi day run (3.14 miles or 5.05 km) or both! Any donations beyond pie purchases and Pi Run purchases are split between the three participating organizations. Tax receipts are provided for any additional donations.
March 14th ONLY – Pie Pick up will be at the Fresh Roots Cafe 1028 2nd Ave E, Owen Sound between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm. Pies not picked up will be shared with program participants and staff of the participating charities.
A special thank you to Boon Bakery for offering to do the gluten-free pies! If you ordered one, pick it up at Boon Bakery (813 2nd Ave E) on March 14th from 10 am-5 pm.

There are limited quantities for each flavour of pie and a limit of only 2 pies per flavour per order (ie you can order 2 apples and 2 cherries but not 3 apples).
Pi Day Run
Calling all runners and walkers! Celebrate the delightful mathematical constant, π (Pi), with a self-guided 3.14 mile/5.05 km run/walk through picturesque Grey Bruce! Receive a special edition Wooden Dated Pi Day Medallion provided by HAVE1.COM as a memento of your achievement.
Registration is open and the cost is $25. Sign up now! If you’d like to run with us, on Saturday, March 11th at 7:30 am, gather your friends, family, and anyone else looking for a lively jog and meet us at Runner’s Den (801 2nd Ave E, Owen Sound). We’ll be taking the route out together! The medallions will be mailed soon after the fun-filled Pi Day of March 14th.
