#FinancialFridays: Owen Sound Water Meter Alert
For those living in Owen Sound, check to see if your water meter is scheduled to be replaced. If you have not yet booked your water meter replacement, your water could be disconnected. Disconnection will begin on October 28th.

See details about the City of Owen Sound Water Meter Replacement Project below.
- The majority of water meters installed in Owen Sound’s residential properties are at the end of their lifespan.
- Owen Sound is undertaking a mass replacement project to replace the old meters with new ones and upgrade the technology.
- The replacement meters will reduce the time it takes to read the meters. It will also help with moving to monthly billing in the future.
- It will let residents be more aware of their water consumption and possible leaks.
- There is no cost to residents for this replacement.
Neptune Technology is handling the appointments, which can be booked online and by phone. Residents need to be home during the installation, which takes around 30-90 minutes.
Schedule your appointment online at https://www.watermeterappt.com/ or by calling 1-800-667-4387. Please make sure your water meter is accessible.
In September 2025, information was sent to residents who had not yet completed the water meter replacement.
