#FinancialFridays: How Credit Canada GOLD Transforms Debt into Opportunity
When Caroline speaks with people one-on-one, they talk together about monthly expenses, income, assets, and debts. When dealing with debts, there are a range of options. An organization that Caroline connects people with is Credit Canada. They are a registered not-for-profit organization that helps people through debt consolidation and credit counseling.
Credit Canada has a free program call Credit Canada GOLD. This is a financial coaching program that empowers you to make immediate and sustainable, long-term changes to get you out of debt for good. There are women’s only sessions and mixed gender sessions.
Two close friends of Caroline’s have taken this course. One said, “Credit Canada GOLD is a program for women by women to get a better understanding of your money, habits, rights, and resources. It helped me to understand how much of my money was being used to self-soothe emotionally, for me through lunches and takeout when I was stressed or upset. As someone with ADHD, it also made me aware of my impulsive spending and helped me to become more accountable on an emotional level to my debts without beating myself up.”
Credit Canada GOLD is an accessible and credible financial coaching program that moves beyond traditional financial literacy, which is knowledge-based, to financial well-being, which is insight-based. Those insights drive action and sustained behavioural change, making a continued impact over time.”
