#FinancialFridays: 211
Many of the people I speak with one-on-one are dealing with multiple difficult issues and don’t know where to find help. 2-1-1 is always a good place to start.
2-1-1 is a free phone and online resource that helps people find services in their community that can help them with a wide variety of needs. One of the community support resources is our Financial Literacy Program.
In January alone, in Grey and Bruce County, 2-1-1 helped people find 833 resources in our communities. Housing issues made up the most requests for information at 41%. 5% of requests were looking for help with financial issues.
From your phone, you can dial 2-1-1 and talk to a human 24 hours a day to ask about support services. With the main 2-1-1 webpage, you can choose your local community. You can alternatively use the already geographically focused 2-1-1 at https://brucegreycommunityinfo.cioc.ca/.
