The application for the Canada Disability Benefit opens Friday, June 20^th!

The Canada Disability Benefit is a monthly payment of up to $200 from the federal government for people with significant disabilities.

If you have a Disability Tax Credit, are between 18 and 64 years old, have filed for the 2024 tax return, and are a Canadian resident for tax purposes, you may be eligible for this benefit.

People who have been approved for the Disability Tax Credit and meet most of the eligibility criteria will receive a letter starting in June. It will have a unique application code and instructions on how to apply. Make sure you have your Social Insurance Number (SIN) and direct deposit information.

If you do not get a letter and think you’re eligible, you can still apply. You will need your SIN, direct deposit information, mailing address, and net income (line 23600) from your 2024 notice of assessment.

On June 20^th, 2025, the online application will open. You will also be able to apply for phone and in person at a Service Canada office.
