Backpack Program Update July 13th 2025

As another busy week wraps up, I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been happening behind the scenes at the Backpack Program. We’re in the thick of packing, delivering, and preparing for what’s shaping up to be another impactful season.

But before we dive in, let’s be clear — this entire program exists because of the incredible support from our community. Every donation, every shared post… it all adds up. So, thank you. You’re the reason kids across Bruce and Grey will walk into school this fall feeling prepared and confident.

Packed So Far

So far, 684 backpacks have been packed and are ready to head out the door. Each one is filled with the tools kids need to start school with confidence and a sense of excitement.

This Week’s Deliveries

We were excited to deliver backpacks to two of our partner agencies this week:

Thank you to these organizations for helping us get supplies into the hands of students who need them.

Backpack Requests to Date

We’ve received requests for a total of 649 backpacks so far:

  • 586 from agencies
  • 61 from individuals and families

The need is real, and growing — but we’re trying to keep up, thanks to the generosity of our community.

Current Status

Here’s where we stand with agency orders:

  • 6 of 9 are fully packed and filled
  • 2 are scheduled for delivery
  • 1 is ready and waiting — just waiting on a pickup or drop-off time

Shelves are stocked, backpacks are prepped, and the team is moving fast to meet the demand.

A Quick Reminder

If you’re an agency and haven’t submitted your backpack request yet, you still can. Orders are still open, and we’d love to support your families.

All shelves are fully stocked, and we’re ready to go. If your agency hasn’t submitted your request yet, now’s a great time to do that. We’re still accepting orders and happy to help get your students ready for September.

To every individual, business, organization, and supporter who has helped make this possible, thank you. Your kindness is helping local students walk into September ready to learn, grow, and thrive. This program truly wouldn’t exist without you.

With appreciation,
